Fiona O'Toole despised St. Patrick's Day with a passion. There was not one
thing positive about the holiday and it did not help having an Irish name.
Her husband Mal dragged her to a local bar to celebrate with yucky,
American green beer and a horrible band. After her grumbles being ignored
by Mal, an Irish man behind the bar starts a little chit chat with her.
She becomes little nervous about him, deciding he is an Irish Stalker.
Fiona eventually drags her husband out of the bar and says those fatal
words. I wish you could be me for just one day. She hears behind her the
reply, “Granted".
She awakens inside of Mal's body and Mal in hers. It becomes a day of
enlightenment and just plain bizarreness. For once Fiona and Mal will
really see how it feels to be the other sex and all the complexes that go
with it. The biggest question of all is will they ever be normal again? Do
they want to? Fiona and Mal will have fun experimenting before they find
out.
Turnabout was a real eye opener to me. Sure, we all wished the male could
see what it was like to female, but have we ever thought of what it would
be like to be male? The sex scenes were very sexually stimulating,
humorous and thought-provoking. I thought this book was written very
realistically in the terms of how a majority of men and women think. I was
sad to read the last page for I secretly hoped that Elizabeth Jewell would
make a series out of it. I still enjoyed it immensely and I believe you
will too!
