Melody is the genetically programmed mate-to-be of not just a man, but a
werewulf. She loves Hunter, but some of the things that would be expected
of her as his mate make her uncomfortable and has asked him for time
before she makes the final commitment.
Hunter is a busy wulf. He heads the city’s paranormal protection team as
well as being the area’s Alpha male. He loves and wants Melody with
everything in him and looks forward to being truly mated with her.
Melody and Hunter run into trouble when Hunter’s cousin Chase, another
Alpha male, who tries to claim Melody. He needs her for his own purposes
and doesn’t care that his cousin loves her. Putting all family loyalty
aside, he tries to take Melody against her will. Once Hunter and Melody
deal with that… there is this nasty troll on the Golden Gate Bridge that
is looking for love in all the wrong places. Could the day get any
worse?
This
was an interesting twist on the werewolf story. Ms. Anthony has created a
very different world than any other shape shifting story I have seen.
While the attempted rape and graphic violence was a little too much for
me, I thoroughly enjoyed the part of the story about the troll, and Melody
and Hunter’s resolution to it. I also loved the relationship between
Hunter’s strong Alpha male character and Melody’s tough, yet sweet one.
If you like unique shape shifting stories, you will enjoy this one.
WARNING: This book has exhibitionism, graphic violence, and a very
realistic attempted rape scene.
