Detective Emily Evans is on a mission. A serial rapist is running loose in
Yorktown and Emily is chosen as part of the task force to hunt and capture
him. The hardest part of the job is that Emily's own sister Rowena was
raped and killed by a very familiar type killer, if not the same man. She
must not let her emotions get in the way, the need to stay level headed is
important. Putting together clues, Emily discovers that every woman
murdered had placed a personal ad in the paper, “The Daily Gazette". Emily
reaches out to talk with the editor Mac Landon, because she just might
need his help a lot more then she realizes. The impact of meeting him is
just like getting hit with cupid's arrow. It is immediate attraction so
intense it is overwhelming for the both of them. A relationship becomes
essential in more then one way as they team up together. It is a race
against time to find the killer, especially when Emily sets herself up as
a target.
Tracks is indeed a perfect title. The reader is drawn into a dark and
dangerous world, where Emily must learn the inner mind of the killer.
While Emily battles her own personal reasons for wanting to find this
madman, she also must confront her own heart. The turning point of the
book is when Emily sets herself up as bait by placing a personal ad,
despite Mac being very against it. You become fearful of what might happen
to Emily if things get far out of hand. You, the reader will be glad you
chose to read this book. Every page is detailed perfectly, for those like
more substance in their stories.
