Chione is the only child of King Askih of the Eastern Lands. Her entire
world and people lay now upon what Emperor Osorkon could do for her. A man
she considered vile, since he allowed her father to die. As Chione makes
her way through the palace, she hears the many women whispering of the
Emperor Osorkon's sexual appetite and endurance. Chione tries to push
aside the thoughts of his sexual nature, because if she does not get
reinforcements from the Emperor, her people will die by the hand of the
barbarians, The Xiong Hu. They had been enemies with them for many years.
She never expected that once they met, the love would grow. Emperor
Osorkon was an empath, just like his mother. The gift came from
generations ago, when a member of the family was bitten by a scorpion.
Being an Empath was wonderful for being an emperor, but to love a woman
would mean his death. Many good and bad things could arise if Chione and
Osorkon were to bond.
The Sting of the Concubine is a very sensual story. I was little disturbed
by the Emperor's mother for I was not quite sure how to take her "subtle"
sexual advances toward her son. Maybe that was just her nature as a sexual
being and meant as nothing else but comfort as a mother to a son. Other
then that issue I found Sting of the Concubine very riveting and very
entertaining. Emperor Osorkon and Chione are a wonderful team together,
and they share more in common then they realize. A perfect story to take
you away from a hectic day at work or even with the family.
