Bull rider Lauren O’Shea is coming home, calling
it quits after a serious injury shakes her. She’ll do the occasional
rodeo around home, especially if it’s for a good cause like the Rancho
Viejo Rodeo.
Nathan Mills has been hired to promote the local
rodeo. He’s a polished city boy, but exudes a sensuality Lauren is unable
and unwilling to resist.
This “fish out of water” story really isn’t about
an urban cowboy trying to fit in. This story is about instant attraction
with a healthy dose of BDSM. The blazing sexuality of both characters has
them in bed shortly after they meet and it doesn’t seem too early or out
of place.
Maggie Casper does an excellent job with Lauren
giving up her sexual freedom to Nathan’s talented hands. Nathan’s fears
for Lauren’s safety provide the emotional connection to make them
believable as a couple. Despite Ms. Casper occasionally inserting
information the lead character can’t know, this story is hot and
entertaining. While the title screams “Christmas,” the references and
season are not what this story is about. Pick up Santa in Spurs for a
read that will leave you squirming in your seat any time of the year.
