Sydney Wagner’s life is pretty smooth. Her bookstore business is
successful and her torrid romance novel may get picked up by a publisher.
Now all she has to do is figure out her love life and she’ll be set. Her
long distance boyfriend doesn’t seem to care like he should and she can’t
get the sexy guy who changed her tire out of her mind.
Peter Kane was just being a nice guy when he stopped to help a stranded
motorist. Stockbroker and sometimes pilot, his life is going along just
fine. He didn’t expect the motorist with the flat to be the most
beautiful woman he’d ever seen, or the feistiest. Now, he can’t stop
thinking about her.
Even
though neither Sydney nor Peter planned on a relationship, their
attraction to each other can’t be denied. As they begin exploring their
feelings, it becomes apparent that it is more than a one night stand.
Sydney’s past interferes with their present, and the misunderstanding
tears them apart. Will they be able to move past the baggage that they
both carry, or are they doomed to stay apart?
I
really liked this book. It is a short story, yet Ms. Holland has breathed
life into her characters. Even her secondary characters have depth to
them, and you wonder if a sequel is in the offing for them. The romance
between the two star crossed lovers is believable and hot, with well
written, spicy sex scenes. While the ending was a little abrupt, I liked
the little twist at the end. This would be a good book to pull out on
your way to work or at lunch time, and enjoy yourself. I recommend it.
