Scarlet Hood is miserable. On the way to her grandmother’s house to get
away from her no-good cheating boyfriend, she not only gets lost in the
woods during the middle of an electrical storm, but her suitcase gets
stolen by a bear! Then to cap it all off… she falls on her face in the
mud right in front of the most gorgeous man she has ever seen.
Tyler Carver lives in the woods, hiding out from mankind because he has a
secret. He can shape shift into a wolf. When he comes across a
bedraggled weeping woman in the rain, he’s not sure whether to take her to
the nearest hotel or to his bed.
Scarlet and Tyler are two opposites. She is a city girl, who only knows
one way to live, and he is a man who has to have his space to run… for
obvious reasons. When Tyler takes the wet and unhappy “Red” home with
him, they both begin to see that perhaps the electricity that they are
feeling isn’t all from the lightning outside. Will Red be able to handle
her own personal Big Bad Wolf?
This
was one of the best short stories I’ve read. Ms. Sinclair has taken a
fairy tale and made it her own. The banter between Red and Tyler is a
hoot to read and the love that grows between them is real enough to
touch. The sex is scorching hot, but tempered with enough romance to make
you sigh as you are fanning yourself. I only wish I was Scarlet Hood, so
I could make Tyler howl at the moon.
