The following tale is of a compelling woman, Cori
Occlo, a Princess of Sapa Inca and wife was sent as a gift to spy on the
race of people destined to destroy the last in the line of Incas. Normally
her life would have been one of leisure one of unrequited lusts since she
wouldn’t be able to know another man after having had one night with her
Lord. Told to select the man she would want to be with, while in the hands
of the army come to overthrow her husband, she selects Capitano Hernando
De Soto, Second in Command of the Six Legs, whom she immediately falls for
and proceeds to seduce. Taken from one ruler into the presence of ruthless
other, Cori is now threatened by Pizarro the commander of the Six legs who
likes to show possible traitors what is in store for them if they are have
in mind to be disloyal.
Cori soon becomes a pawn between the two rulers,
one she arbores the other she follows because of sentiment. Unable to take
any more of the ruthless behavior of Pizarro, De Soto takes Cori and heads
to his homeland. Young Cori’s life is filled with people intent on
abusing, physical and emotional turmoil. Being raped on multiple occasions
I don’t understand how she was able to maintain her sanity. Then again, I
guess the pleasure she derived from some of the acts perpetrated upon her
body could have been why she never lost her senses. After returning to the
New World, in arms length of De Soto’s old commander Cori becomes obsessed
with finally making due on a promise to end his life for all his wicked
deeds. She sets off by herself on one adventure after another, which
brings with more danger and treachery as she continues in her quest for
the blood her enemy and then to be finally reunited with the love of her
life.
Adventurous and fearless when faced with danger,
Cori is forever committed to whatever task she sets out to accomplish. Her
extreme sexuality is one of her many talents that winds up along with her
quick wit and cunning mind to be most useful in her numerous close calls.
A fighter himself, De Soto pails in comparison to the love of his life and
her ability to not lose hope when all seems lost. Full of cruelty and
depravity, Cori Occlo is a book that will leave many readers in shock at
the violent acts seen repeatedly through the story. Not gratuitous but
definitely enough to turn even the strongest stomachs to mush. Enthralled
with the vitality of Cori, I was able to bypass some of the disreputable
actions of the brutes she constantly found herself in the presence of and
enjoy the story for what it was, a fascinating and erotic adventure of a
woman and how she came to be in the New World. Readers will find
themselves spellbound, page after page as they immerse themselves in the
mesmerizing life of woman who time and time again preserved when all the
odds were against her.
